Ever been on a blind date? Or set up by a well meaning friend who happens to know someone who would be “just perfect” for you, because after all, you are getting up there in years and the pickings are getting slimmer every day. Yikes! Save me from all this. Dating is a pain in the rear and can be the torture of the century for someone who does not meet the standard look for the meat market crowd and gets ridiculed at every turn. For this reason, a lot of people who think there will be a higher percentage of tolerant folks on a Christian dating site turn to those sites not only to match up with someone of their own religious background, but also to find someone a cut above the average person on the street.
But don’t get carried away just yet—-yes, the religious part is out of the way pretty early into the game, but you still have the specter of a blind date atmosphere hanging over the entire operation. Some of us are not the priceless works of art we used to be years ago, or maybe we never were; or we are in our younger years and just don’t fit into the dating scene for what ever reason—–then the thought of baring our souls on a match up service is akin to drinking cyanide.
So, if you are at all like me, you dread the thought of having to look for someone just for the purpose of having that person in your life—-maybe as a friend, or God forbid, a romantic encounter. I guess my self esteem is such that I would rather be alone and kind of lonely rather than have to prostitute myself (not in the traditional way) as someone looking for a mate.
But, if society is shoving you headlong into finding a compatible soul to spend the rest of your days with; or your biological clock is ticking and you are getting desperate when it comes to the dating scene, then by all means use a dating service. If you were raised Christian and want to find someone who believes the same as you do, then cut to the chase and search for a Christian dating site that fills the bill for you. You will find folks who understand where you are coming from when you state needs and wants, and that understanding makes things move much more smoothly.
Personally, I have never used a Christian dating site; even though I was raised as a Christian and still am a practicing one: but I wonder just what type of people would use a site like that. Most of the folks that were my age in the church I grew up in were kind of dorky people with not much pizazz nor flair for living outside the box. I always felt a little out of place because I wanted action—-a faster lifestyle and more flash—-the reason I moved to the big city. I wonder if these religious sites attract more of the low key type of individual.
Whenever I think of a Christian dating site, I think of a site populated by folks of two extremes: the first being folks who are basically good people with strong moral standards, ones who have never broken the law or even gotten a parking ticket: and then the flip side would be those folks who are radical in their beliefs, very opinionated and domineering, and almost cult like in their thinking. You still have to be wary of who it is you are dealing with on these sites even though it is touting a Christian label.
A Christian dating service could be just the ticket for someone looking for another person to share his life with, and already knows there would be a compatibility in the religion part; but be just as careful dealing with these members as those in a nonreligious grouping—-there are still bad apples in every barrel. To find numerous Christian dating sites on the Internet, just browse up the topic and you will find many of them that can fill the bill for you in your search for that certain someone.
