When I first did the Lemon Juice Detox, I knew it wasn’t right for everyone but I was sure that it was the right fit for me. And I’m so glad that I did it because not only have I lost an astonishing 33lb but I now seem to bypass all of the germs that the kids bring home from school too, not to mention the massive amount of energy i now have. I haven’t felt this great since for years, it’s probably one of the best decisions I ever made.
I found when I first did my research that there were many conflicting opinions on the detox and even more conflicting recipes. So I’d like to set the record straight on the recipe first. The correct recipe for the Lemon Juice Detox is;
* 8 fl oz’s Purest Spring Water
* 2 TBL Spns Fresh Lemon Juice – use organic if you compress the skins
*2 Table Spoons Grade B Maple Syrup
* One Tenth of a Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper
and that is it! Nothing else, no special ingredients that you have to spend a fortune on – no special palm oils, just those ingredients you see there.
The Lemon Juice Detox is based on the original Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs and although there are tweaks and changes that people have made, I would suggest that you stick to the Master Cleanse version as this is the one that has been tried, tested and proven to work for over FIFTY years!
The detox is known by various names, some are the same, some have tiny tweaks but all are based on the Master Cleanse, you may have heard it called the following; maple syrup detox, lemon juice cleanse, cayenne pepper diet, lemon detox, the lemonade diet and the master cleanse, amongst others. All of which stem from the Master Cleanse.
I have my own personal favourite and I call it the Lemon Detox, this is what I based my blog on because I think it sums it up quite well. All of the versions are similar although the one I do is pretty much the master cleanse and I would encourage you to do this one. It’s been tested and it makes you feel fantastic.
If anyone tells you the detox is easy, then they are probably lying or selling something. It isn’t easy but it is rewarding, if you stay on the staright and narrow. There are aspects of the detox that I really didn’t like – I could have cared less for the laxtive tea and the salt water flush was an experience that I wouldn’t describe as ‘pleasant’ but the end result was what I had my focus on. The right mindeset makes all the difference to your overall success. The detox is for people who want fast but long lasting results.
I remember that around day 4 I was suffering some awful headaches and this is common, but even then I focused on my health and weightloss and got through it.
But don’t worry because with the bad comes far more good! feelings of clarity and elation kick in after day four and you will feel like you’re walking on air. As all of those toxins leave your body, you’ll start to absolutely amazing. I’d advise that you do around seven to ten days, although my first detox lasted nineteen days in the end!
What happens now? well, I would always recommend that you check out with a health professional that you’re good to go. There are many, many health professionals supporting the detox and it’s proven results of lowered blood pressure.
This time in seven days, you too could have dropped a ton of weight and also feel absolutely fantastic!
